We have rebuilt our machines more often than anybody should have to, even to the point of running out of some of our MSDN license keys, because when VS goes bad, it can hose a build and a "Repair" does not seem to do the trick. With a clean OS build and a fresh VS install, we run into errors and behavioral problems, even trying to do the basic tutorials. We are truly beyond frustrated with Visual Studio. We are using 2015 MacBook Pros (16GB) running Windows 10 (Boot Camp) and the latest VMware v8 Fusion so we can run both platforms simultaneously.
